I’m obsessed with reading, so it’s no surprise story time with my daughter is my favorite part of the day. It’s also not surprising that when Franklin announced they were coming out with a new reading device for kids, I jumped at the chance to test it out.
Franklin’s AnyBook basically allows you to record your voice reading all your kids’ books. All you do is mark the pages in the book with the provided stickers and begin recording with the “magic wand.” The “wand,” as my daughter affectionately calls it, is this giant pen-like thing that syncs up with the stickers so it knows what recording to play on each page.
It’s perfect for parents who work late or when the kids go spend the weekend with the grandparents. Just send them to bed with the AnyBook and they’ll be comforted by your voice reading their favorite stories before bed.
And don’t worry about your books getting all messed up by those stickers. When your little one is old enough to read on his/her own, the stickers remove cleanly, no harm done.
Now the only trouble I had was getting my daughter to stay quiet enough for me to record the stories. She was bubbling with excitement over her new toy that I eventually had to wait for her to go to sleep before we could test it out. So a note to parents: record some stories first, then give it to you kid.
